Well at least I can still paint objects...

What now looks vaguely like a tiny Gouald naqueda reactor used to be a $5 laser-tag-ish sentry unit. The best thing about this thing is it's totally guttable so I can make it into something custom. AND it has a small motor in the base so it rotates.

Somewhere along the way this will get something cool put in it. They're so cheap I'm planning on picking up a couple more and sending them out to geeky friends once I figure out what to put in them. They're just too cool and cheap not to snap up.

How fast does it rotate?

Vaguely reminds me of an old Dietz kerosene lamp I
"electrified" using the guts from a criticality beacon...

Like I said I'm not going to keep the internals on the next ones I'm picking up. Er...already picked up. At $5 each they are interesting toys to take apart. The LEDs along are worth it because they are RGB LEDs and there are four of them.
