A friend just informed me that BBC America is going to try doing Top Gear for US audiences. (You can verify that this is in progress because there’s a link at imdb.com for a 2008 US version of the show.)
It will be a dismal dismal failure.
Anyone who watches the show Top Gear can plainly see that it is essentially British and the humor and show’s style will just not translate to an American version. It just won’t be the same. It may in truth turn out to be a popular show (Goddess knows people in the world watch an awful lot of crap) but it will not be Top Gear. It just won’t.
*sigh* Once again greed tries to ruin something good. I hope it dies a one-episode horrible death or better yet is stillborn on the desks of the producers.
In other news I tore into the front differential of my truck last night and I’m gonna need a replacement. Thankfully they are fairly common and not too expensive. If you know where the gallery is you can see that I broke the carrier for the spider gears. I might just take it over to the local 4x4 place and see how much it will cost to have it rebuilt. That might save me a lot of time.
And even if it costs a certain amount of money it is _still_ better than having a car payment every month.
Regardless I need to get it fixed as soon as possible for several reasons. Not the least of which is that I have most of the parts to fix my main bike and pretty much all the parts to at least get the other one running. But I need to get space in the garage first.
