Scattered wolves teeth...

March 12, 2009 11:07 AM 3/12/09

So I pick up the referral for the oral surgeon today so I can schedule it for next week. And none too soon either as my mouth is definitely not a fun place to be right now.

Spent money today to get myself a video card from CDW for my desktop out in the garage. Some of it I already had allocated and the rest I can make up from other sources so it’s not too bad.

Did I mention that painful teeth are seriously distracting?

Sketched up a quick idea in the small sketchbook last night on how I could make a functioning version of the Whizzing Arrow star racer from the cartoon Oban:Star Racers using current technology. It wouldn’t be very fuel efficient but it would fly and perform exactly as it does in the cartoon minus things like booster engines and the gunner’s pod of course. The person who thought up the design obviously had a knowledge of some aerodynamics because it was a simple proposition to work with that design to make it functional. It’s almost like the design is a low-speed version of the Harrier.

I’d love to create models of these things but time and money always seem to be in my way. For instance an RC model of the above design would easily cost me close to a grand and probably several months of intricate work. I wish I had the resources. I keep working on getting them and the universe seems to keep taking them away.

Just got a note about Countrywide and Bank of America. Kinda concerned about that whole thing but frankly we have a fixed mortgage and are up to date on our payments so I don’t think it’ll be an issue. I just hate transitions like this that I have very little control over.

Plant 101 is on hold for this week as my sister-in-law has had a bad day and will likely not be in a learning mood. No big deal as I’ve got all the stuff for whenever she’s ready. I may even go and buy a tomato plant for her if someone’s got an already started seedling. And I need to go get a heat gun anyway as I still can’t find mine.

*DING!*

Ahh...that sound means it’s time to get back to work. Bleh.

I used to have a pager that sounded _exactly_ like the beeper on a McDonald's fryer. I used to trigger it in McDonald's and watch the people working there run to check the timer. ;-)

As for the "ding" I don't think anybody outside the Chicago-land area would "BZZT! Yo time is up!". (For the record that was an old radio thing from WLS years ago - if I remember correctly it used to be the automated operator on Chicago payphones many many years ago.

But it's like The Gigglesnort Hotel - nobody outside Chicago remembers it.
