Cleaning the weave...

Sometimes you think of weird things...like where you'll be in ten years.

Honestly I can't tell that yet. The beads/knots on my thread haven't moved so I can't see beyond them.

It's strange that I can see a little bit of other people's threads in the tapestry but not my own. Even more interesting I've found that I can kind of de-cruft what I _can_ see of those threads. It's kind of like giving them a puff from a can of air - it cleans them up a bit. And sometimes that's all people need to get back on top.

I'm sure there's a price for this somewhere but I get the sense that I'm not meant to pay that particular price this lifetime. Which is good because I use it a lot. Used it on friends and family and even some strangers. For the strangers I can't stay around to see if it helps but I hope it does.

In more mundane news I'm having fun working the current temp jobs. I can do a good job and nobody cares that I'm out shining anybody else. (Not that I'm particularly out shining anybody yet but even the possibility of doing that without problems heartens me.) I've hopefully got two more jobs scheduled for next week after these ones get done. I still have to fill out my unemployment forms and look for jobs obviously but this just feels better.

I find myself in need of a new laptop just for Linux so I can devote one of my existing ones to Windows full time for job purposes. Thinking about a replacement MacBook but that's awfully expensive. A friend has suggested System76 but they are also a little pricey. Thinking about an inexpensive Toshiba from a local big box store but I can't swing the $400 right now.

In the past I would have seriously considered Apple Store credit but right now a debt is not what we need nor is it even really acceptable to me any more. In fact any debt but the house really is not acceptable to me any more. Still a new MacBook is very attractive to me...

In artistic news I'm going to hold off on using the kiln for about two weeks so I can dig into the yard and workshop to get them all settled. I don't want to run that kiln in the workshop right now with all the clutter that's in there. And I need to get the truck timing chain done so I can use it to pick up loads of wood chips from the local city pile area.

The lawn tractor needs new blades. I think I'll get them from Farm & Barn because they still have a Murray section with blades. Hopefully they'll be on clearance because I need two 38" blades for that deck. Also need to fill up the 5 gallon gas can again but not right away.

I've decided that I'm going to put most of the firewood behind the shed on a tarp then put the rest behind the workshop. Then I'm going to put the bike that's in the shed out on the street with a free sign on it along with the box of parts. I can't find the title but I can provide a bill of sale and that should be good enough. I'm never going to get that Suzuki running again anyway. (Maybe I'll put up a Craigslist ad for it.) Finally I'll put the lawn tractor back in the shed, the grill in front of the shed, and the boat where the firewood was. That should organize things quite nicely.

I'm glad to hear the jobs are going well for you and in general you sound like you're feeling pretty upbeat.

*hugs*

I'm feeling a little better now that the ball is actually rolling but I'm still concerned about stability. Seems like I shouldn't be though as the jobs seem to appear quite often - I just added one for next week as of today.

Momentum! Once you get started, things seem to follow.
